Dayna Mahannah is a writer and editor who grew up in West Kelowna, BC, the territory of the Syilx and Okanagan people. She now lives in Vancouver with her uncategorizable mutt. Dayna’s work appears in subTerrain, Geist, Electric Literature, NUVO, TRUE Africa, and HELD Mag. Dayna previously served as the editor-in-chief of Geist and is currently their Events & Outreach Manager. She has also worked as a contributing editor at Beatroute Magazine and campaign manager at Adbusters. After graduating The Writer’s Studio at SFU, Dayna earned her MFA from the University of British Columbia’s School of Creative Writing. She is writing a memoir about working as a reporter abroad—a story about the cost of ambition and the misfortune of finding yourself wherever you go.
